Performance Studios Australia has launched their remarkable Queensland Initiative called RISE UP. A Competition that is seeking to uncover and nurture the next generation of Southeast Queensland's singing talent. This is an opportunity for budding singers aged 17 or older, to showcase their VOICE and be in the running to be one of the very first RISE UP Finalists.

Mindy Pack started performing at the age of eight, hoping to be the world’s first “singing heart surgeon”. While passing on med school, she heals the world through music. Coaching voice professionals through techniques, science, vocal health is her life’s work at Mindy Pack Studios.
With locations in Salt Lake and Los Angeles, and virtual worldwide clients, Mindy’s roster includes singers, artists, voice over actors, professional speakers, rehabilitation, newscasters, and transitioning voices.
Clinically certified both in Vocology from The National Center for Voice and Speech, and as a licensed massage therapist, Mindy specializes in vocal structural integration.
As a world renowned technician and performer herself, she understands the daily demands on artists. Awarded Best of State for Voice Instruction, she’s received Best of Salt Lake City for Private Music Instruction for the past six years. Mindy’s coaching aims to not only help her clients connect in the industry, but to help them develop in their artistry through collaboration to find the best possible solutions for clientele.
Client accomplishments while under Mindy’s wing include world tours, Broadway tours, AMA’s, Grammy’s, International Awards, BAFTA Winners, TV, Voice Over Professionals, YouTube Sensations, Scholarship Winners, Reality TV, and local and national and international performances.

International singer and Two-time Guinness World Record Holder for singing the highest vocal note by a male! (C Sharp in the 8th Octave - a semi-tone higher than a Grand Piano).
This achievement has astounded audiences from all around the world leading Lopez to perform and appear on international television and radio stations in Japan, Spain, Italy, Korea, Hong Kong, and the USA.
Apart from smashing World Records, Adam Lopez has worked successfully as a solo performer and singer/songwriter for over 25 years and regularly performs Classical, Jazz, Latin, and Pop repertoire.
He has performed with Australian legends such as James Morrison and Kate Ceberano and sung backing vocals for international artists including Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and The Corrs.
With a focus on performing Countertenor repertoire, Adam Lopez continues to be a sought-after performer for concerts, shows and festivals, and delivers Vocal Workshops and Voice Lessons internationally in studio and online.
Gregory is a graduate of the QLD Conservatorium of Music and
as a Cross-over Pop Opera artist is in high demand for his performance style and versatility. His performing credits
include: an original member of The Ten Tenors, The Pirates of Penzance - Australian Tour for ESSGEE (Frederic Understudy, Ensemble), and Tenor Soloist in Andrew McKinnon’s World Touring International hit Scotland the Brave, with performances including the Sydney Opera House and the Lincoln Centre in New York City. He has performed The National Anthem in front of worldwide television audiences for International and Australian Rugby, Cricket Australia, and State of Origin, and is a regular guest artist with the Queensland Pops Orchestra.
As an original member of the Pop Opera Trio ‘La Forza’, Greg has performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, The South Pacific & Asia on all leading Cruise Ships including featured acts on Cunard, Princess, and Royal Caribbean, and has been a regular guest at the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight.
Off stage, Greg is a Co-Producer for the Lord Mayor’s Senior’s Christmas Parties at Brisbane City Hall, a vocal and performance mentor for the Senior’s Cabaret Showcase and Creative Generation, and has been the Musical Director for the Brisbane City Christmas Parade, Christmas Pantomime, and Queen Street Mall Christmas Pop-up shows since 2010 with Event Management Company, TLC Events Co. Due to Gregory’s contribution to the arts, he was an Australia Day Ambassador for the Queensland Government (2009 – 2011).
As well as appearing as the Tenor Soloist for the ABC TV and DVD/CD release of the hit Show ‘Scotland the Brave’, Greg has recorded two solo studio albums: ‘I’ve Dreamed of You’ recorded with the QLD Pops Orchestra and The Christmas Gift, released for David Jones Australia wide and New Zealand. His TV special An Intimate Evening with Gregory Moore & Friends is available as a LIVE DVD & CD and has been featured on the STUDIO Channel, FOXTEL.
As a Trainer and Assessor, Greg has worked for many Performing Arts Schools including DLDC & ADPI, and is now Head of Music at the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, (ACPA); sharing his passion of the performing arts and building a bright new generation of First Nation’s performers.

Mike Bennett has over 45 years experience working in radio, television, live presentation and media training. He's the president of Logan 101FM the number one community radio station in Queensland and he also presents the Monday morning show on that station and has been known to MC at many venues throughout South East Queensland. He has a keen interest in promoting local talent and many singer songwriters and performers have made their radio debut appearing on his show. Known for his straight talking, Mike will tell it how it is!

Known as Mr Hollywood in Oz, charismatic media personality Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi first arrived in Brisbane from his hometown of Los Angeles in 1990 and has since worn many hats professionally. Originally a film and television Casting Director with his company Rossi Casting Group (1995-2007), Damien knows how to spot talent with everyone from dynamic duo The Veronicas to international supermodel Miranda Kerr having graced his Milton casting studios. After being approached by a Channel 7 executive producer in 2002, Damien made the move to the other side of the camera as a TV Presenter for a Saturday morning show on the network which ultimately led to becoming a cast member on Channel 7’s popular weekly travel/lifestyle programs The Great South East and The Great Day Out (now called Weekender). In 2009, Rossi took over the reins of The Sunday Mail’s iconic social pages reporting on Queensland’s biggest and best events and continued in this role until the demise of the social pages due to COVID in 2020. Damien is a sought-after Ambassador for major events, festivals, hotels, organisations and brands having served in this role for many clients over the years including Hyatt Regency, The Star Entertainment Group, Brisbane Racing Club, Brisbane Festival and Noosa Alive Festival amongst others.
Damien will be judging our GRAND FINAL ROUND on April 19th, 2024!
Strong, fierce and full of flare. Triple Ms Breakfast Host, Margaux Parker, brings a flair to South East Queensland’s local breakfast show. Already a veteran of the Brisbane social scene, Margaux has announced herself as an in-demand media identity since the retirement of her husband, former Brisbane Bronco, QLD and Australian rugby league legend, Corey. A queen of social media and a proud mother of four kids under the age of 12, the Logan local is as comfortable on the red carpet as she is in a pair of uggs at school drop off. Margaux brings a powerful presence to a studio of big personalities and has undoubtedly been embraced by the Brisbane audiences.
Margaux will be the FINAL judge for our GRAND FINAL ROUND on April 19th, 2024!

HOW TO ENTER
- Submit a video audition. This can be from your Smart Phone at home.

- Upload your audition video to YouTube (no other formats accepted)
- Make sure the privacy is set to Unlisted.
- Click share, and copy the link into your Rise Up application form.
You can submit a Smart Phone recording from your home. It must be performed with music, such as a live instrument or backing track. This must be unedited.
This singing competition is open to all skill levels & vocal styles. We want to make sure you’re best represented on stage. The team are not expecting any sort of professional video production or performance for your audition, we just want to get to know you!
LET'S BREAK IT DOWN
Video Audition: The Rise Up team will review all video auditions and select singers for the live performances. Entry to the competition is not guaranteed on application.
Song Choice: Contestants are to provide 2 contrasting song choices. The Rise Up team will select 1 of these options for you to perform.
Live Performance: All successful singers will go straight to the stage, with a live performance in front of a panel of judges & audience.
Grand Final Launch: Top placing Contestants from previous rounds will battle it out to see who will take home the Grand Prize.

JUDGING CRITERIA
Vocals (scored out of 25): Including but not limited to; Vocal technique, tone, breath, timing, diction, vocal range, flexibility.
Song Choice (scored out of 25): Arrangement, interpretation, and style.
Performance & Story Telling (scored out of 25): Stage presence, audience engagement, entertainment value, and connection.
REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee is $55. This includes competition entry and a personally written critique from all rounds of the competition.

Tickets to each performance are available to the general public, and will cost $25 for U18s, and $35 for 18+. *transaction fees may apply
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT SHOULD I SING?
You may sing any style, but it must not contain explicit language, and should be appropriate for your age. Most importantly, choose a song that will entertain your audience.
HOW MUCH IS THE COMPETITION?
The registration fee is $55, which includes competition entry, personal critique from the judges judges throughout your competition journey.
HOW MUCH ARE AUDIENCE TICKETS TO THE SHOW?
Tickets range from $25 - $35. + transaction fees
WILL I EVER HAVE TO PERFORM LIVE?
Yes. All performances, aside from the audition videos, are performed live.
DO I HAVE TO BRING PEOPLE TO WATCH THE SHOW?
There is no obligation to sell tickets to the show. However, we highly encourage everyone to bring friends/family to watch the performance as the show is designed for a live audience, and is a lot more fun with someone cheering you on from the audience. This event is on sale to the general public.

CAN I SING AN ORIGINAL?
Yes, we love to hear original work.
CAN I SING ACAPELLA (without music)?
No. Must be with a backing track.
CAN I HAVE SOMEONE ACCOMPANY ME, OR PLAY A LIVE INSTRUMENT?
No. To keep the competition fair and to focus on vocals, live instruments are not permitted. All performances are to backing tracks only.
CAN THE MUSIC HAVE BACKING VOCALS?
The backing track is NOT permitted to have any backing vocals.
DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERIENCED SINGER?
The Rise Up competition is open for all experience levels and vocal styles.
WHO CANNOT ENTER?
Contestants must be unsigned by a record label.
DO I HAVE BE AN AUSTRALIAN RESIDENT?
You may apply as long as you live in Queensland, Australia. Non-residents may not be eligible for prizes.
IS THERE A SONG TIME LIMIT?
We prefer under 5 minutes per song is our preference.
DO I GET TO SEE THE SCORES?
No. We do not find providing the scores constructive, but all Contestants will receive personal written feedback.
